Visions and new opportunities come true with funds provided for educators and students from the Duncanville ISD Education Foundation. The Education Foundation generates and distributes resources to Duncanville ISD teachers for programs and projects that enhance the quality of education and provide students with opportunities to become contributing citizens. All the proceeds from the 5th Annual Heart of Duncanville 5K will go to support the efforts of the foundation. Since the inception of the race in 2014, over $108,000 has been raised in support of our local educators.
The sole purpose of the Education Foundation is to fund the creative and innovative techniques developed by teachers. Teachers express their creative ideas for project-based learning opportunities in the classroom in an annual grant application process submitted to the Education Foundation. The projects the Foundation Board believes will have the greatest impact on classroom learning are chosen for funding in May and implemented in the following school year. “Our teachers WIN because they now have a new way to fund their innovative ideas outside of the normal budget process. Our students WIN because these programs make classroom learning fun and exciting. Finally, our parents WIN by knowing that their students are receiving the best education available.” – Jim Bilhartz, Jr. (Founding Director)
Thanks so much for the support and we hope to see you in 2019!
